Tulsa’s Shogun Steakhouse

Nearly every birthday in our family is celebrated at Shogun’s. Not just for the fancy knife and spatula work right in front of you, but for the genuinely good food. Though the chefs vary, the food is always wonderful. I usually get the royal combination which is steak fillet and shrimp. The steak is super tender and the shrimp is fresh. The Tulsa Shogun restaurant is at 6808 S Memorial Dr # 224. Below is  picture from my 43rd birthday dinner at Tulsa’s Shogun Steakhouse.

Brookside Tulsa

My favorite area of Tulsa is Brookside. For detailed information go to http://brooksidetheplacetobe.com. It’s a perfect place to spend a Saturday morning, or evening, or afternoon for that matter. Casually stroll the area, visiting all the unique shops. There are coffee shops, restaurants, galleries, farmer’s markets, Wholefoods, etc. At first glance during the evening, Brookside looks like it’s for drinkers only but Ida Red is open until 10 at least (for shopping) and late dinners are served at The Brook and Cosmos, where you can also play board games. Starbucks (my favorite Starbucks in town, actually) and Shades of Brown offer up mean cappuccinos.  –r.kendall

Ron’s Hamburgers

Ron's hamburgers

If you are into greasy burgers, then ron’s hamburgers is your place. They have been voted the best burger in Tulsa over and over. But, if you have someone in your party that needs something on the healthy side, they do make a great grilled chicken salad. But even the most dire hard health nut would have a hard time keeping their hands off Ron’s cheese fries.
